Inglis Falls

Located near Owen Sound, Inglis Falls is one of the most famous waterfalls in Ontario and the largest waterfall surrounding the city.

Location: Owen Sound, ON

Season: Open for all season

When winter wraps Inglis Falls in fresh snow, the waterfall transforms into a quiet masterpiece. Frozen mist clings to the dark limestone cliffs, icicles frame the cascading water, and the surrounding forest becomes a soft white wonderland. The roar of the falls feels deeper against the stillness of winter, while snowy trails invite slow walks, crisp breaths, and peaceful moments surrounded by nature’s raw beauty.

The 18-metre cascade forms where the Sydenham River drops over the Niagara Escarpment, creating dramatic cliffs, deep gorges, and beautiful viewpoints. In winter, the falls partially freeze, creating giant icicles and snowy landscapes that make it especially photogenic.

Inglis Falls Conservation Area is open year-round and is popular in every season. Winter visits are especially loved for frozen waterfall views and snow-covered trails. Some lower or gorge-access trails may close during icy conditions for safety.
