The conservation area surrounds the Wildwood Reservoir, a 22-km-long lake-like waterbody created by a dam on the Thames River. Covering more than 3,000 acres, it is one of the largest conservation areas in Southwestern Ontario and is especially popular for camping, boating, fishing, and family recreation.
